About Bradley Woodruff

I have been working with and researching student data in an academic setting since 2013. This began when I worked as the Information Manager in a campus office, which required to make decisions about collecting, storing, and using student data. In 2016 I started a PhD program in Informatics, focusing on student data in higher education.

This evolved into investigations on how universities use student data to run their systems, deliver services better, understand the student experience, predict financial & student outcomes, and track & monitor students. I have also begun to explore the ethical and privacy implications surrounding the use of student data on college campuses.

For the future, I plan to further research how much students know about the data that is collected about them and how it is used, as well as how they feel about this use of their data.
